Full Moon Rising

Inspired by the rising moon over Lake Katchewanooka, these mixed media images of the Solstice and phases of the moon (with colourful fused glass discs representing the moons) are combined with scenes captured along the shoreline of the lake. A photo of our husky sitting on the dock became the figure of a wolf in January. The red trillium in our garden was added to May’s Flower Moon. A tree split by lightning became the symbol of July’s Thunder Moon. The name of each moon from January to December appears at the bottom of every panel. Some names are indigenous and others are from the farmer’s almanac.
