Fish have the most beautiful markings. This summer I discovered two schools of recently spawned fish swimming around in circles at the water’s edge. They were fascinating to watch. When painting fish, the challenge is to place them in an underwater environment that is transparent, but also full of ripples and bubbles. My “mixed media” fused glass fish turned out more whimsical than realistic, but hopefully still capture a sense of movement through water.
